DRAGONFLY

Suncatcher, lighting on wire
Screen. Space creature. Is it real?
Tiffany might weep to see
Those wings - clear, glassy membranes,
Curved filaments, came-like veins.
Four. Of independent means.
State of the art, set to dart
And dive at will. Versatile
Aeronaut, zig-zag. Terror
Of the skies, mosquitowise.
Resting on a screen now, close
To magnified gaze. Spindles,
Rudder, swivel-knob head. Still
Until disturbed, perhaps, by
One enormous human eye.
